Inside SPAC – Stuff from the Archives

Granted we can’t see too many bellbottoms from this perspective, but if you colorized this early picture inside the amphitheater it would not look much different than this past season. The original amphitheater roof gave workers no access to the ceiling to change something as simple as a lightbulb. To change the house lights, cranes were brought in, and seats had to be removed just to switch out a bulb. There is a joke in there somewhere. Now, SPAC has a system of pullies, which lowers the house lights down to human level.
