Persons with Disabilities
ACCOMMODATION FOR PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENT
Saratoga Performing Arts Center facilities meet federal accessibility guidelines for individuals with disabilities. Please direct requests and questions to the SPAC box Office about Assisted FM hearing system or accommodations for hearing, visually or mobility-impaired individuals.
For the performances of its resident companies (New York City Ballet and The Philadelphia Orchestra), SPAC provides a wonderful courtesy service, golf carts. Sponsored by Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital during the graduation season (May), these six-seat carts are intended to transport those patrons who have difficulty walking.
CART COURTESY
Please consider the following when using the courtesy cart service:
- Please arrive no later than one half hour before a performance is scheduled to begin.
- Because of the number of people requiring transportation, the only riders should be those who truly need the service.
- Carts do not go into the parking lots.
- Please know the gate through which you entered: Route 50 (main gate) or Patrons Lot/Hall of Springs.
- Be patient. It takes time to transport all the patrons.
- Please wait your turn in line.
- Realize that the supervisors have worked for years with this procedure. Trust them to send carts to the appropriate gates and to get everyone transported as quickly as possible.
CARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE JAZZ FESTIVAL OR FOR ANY SPECIALS EVENTS.
2008 Season Cart Guidelines
- Carts are available at any gate.
- There are four carts which travel among the many gates. Patrons are transported on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Patrons will be transported as close as possible to the section in which their seats are located.
- If the performance has begun, patrons will be taken to late seating. They will remain in these seats until the first intermission.
- During intermission, carts are available to transport patrons to the restrooms.
- If there is a need to leave early during a performance, contact an usher, who will then notify the carts.
- After the performance, four carts transport patrons to the gates. This is the order which the carts follow to insure that no one is missed: back stage area, apron, ramps, sidewalk and food court. Then the carts sweep each parking lot to make sure no one needs assistance.
