Opera Saratoga's Trial by Jury/Le 66 comes to the Spa Little Theater for three performances!

Among the programs to be presented during the 2012 season of Opera Saratoga is Trial by Jury/Le 66 by England’s Gilbert and Sullivan and France’s Offenbach. Trial by Jury concerns a “breach of promise of marriage” lawsuit in which the judge and legal system are the objects of lighthearted satire. Gilbert based the libretto of Trial by Jury on an operetta parody that he had written in 1868. Trial by Jury/Le 66 will feature members of the 2012 Opera Saratoga Apprentice Artist Program.

First established in 1962, Opera Saratoga, formerly Lake George Opera, presents fully-staged operatic productions each summer in the Spa Little Theatre. Serving over 40,000 individuals annually, the company has gained recognition by “giving voice to the arts” through high caliber productions, educational programs and by conducting the second oldest Apprentice Artist program in the country.
